Molins PLC is an international specialist engineering company manufacturing plant and equipment for the tobacco, food processing and fast moving consumer goods industries. Despite the group's long and proud history of engineering innovation and excellence, until 2002 its web presence was small in both scope and vision, and fragmented across a range of individual company sites.

Powernet has been working with Molins over the last 3 years to develop a content management based web system that will enable the group to migrate its member companies to an umbrella web structure, within which individual company sites - and a corporate site, containing key group level information - will all be accessible from a single group 'hub'.

A Molins web framework style has been evolved in collaboration with Powernet, ensuring that each site delivers consistency of navigation and presentation while allowing sufficient flexibility to highlight individual brands within the overall group. Below corporate level, the individual company sites are each designed to allow the use of both colour and shape to reflect the respective companies' off-line branding in their web presence.

Four of the sites have already been launched. The Corporate site delivers a news section (with email notifications to registered site users), an investor relations section with share price information and financial reports, and details of the company's activities, directors and key dates in its history and development. A current share price data feed is also integrated into the site to provide up to date information for investors.

The Molins Tobacco Machinery site highlights the products and services of one of the group companies, and allows registered users to download product brochures for an extensive range of products, performance kits and spare. A product brochure template was designed for the company to reflect the visualisation of the web site and maintain consistent branding.

The Cerulean website offers information on current product solutions, and supplies details of the company's extensive sales and service support structure as well as providing a unique on-line spares section with separate user access controls. As with the Tobacco Machinery site, a brochure template has also been designed to allow further information on key products to be made available as the web site evolves. Since the launch, a Technical Bulletins section has been added, and a number of further additions to the site are now in the pipeline.

Sasib home page
A fourth site - for the group's Italy-based Sasib division - was launched in mid-2004, drawing on the framework and structure of the MTM site, but drawing visual inspiration from Sasib's existing, distinctive marketing identity.

All sites also contain detailed global maps, allowing users to identify and locate the group's office, service and industrial locations around the world.
