E-mail Security
Virus Scanning
One of the most common forms of computer virus infection is that contracted through e-mail.
Even legitimate e-mails may contain viruses, and gives the potential hacker a route into your organisation's network. Once inside, a poorly secured network can be exploited in ways that could endanger the future of the organisation. The simplest computer virus can cause many wasted man-hours, even if the actual damage caused is quite minimal.
A popular method of protection involves installing anti-virus software on all the machines on the network. This is both time-consuming, expensive and prone to failure. By not regularly updating the software so that it is familiar with the latest breeds of virus, it may as well not be installed.
A more practical solution is to have all incoming and outgoing e-mail scanned by our mail servers and stripped of any viruses. VIRUS, our e-mail scanning service does just that. Further information can be found on this in the e-mail section of this site, and performance figures can be seen, updated live at our VIRUS client portal.
